Generate Traffic Without SEO
Could you really generate traffic without SEO? SEO is great don’t get me wrong, but it’s not the be all end all everyone makes it out to be. They’re many different traffic generation methods out there besides doing search engine optimization. Below I’m going to outline my favorite traffic generation method I personally use.
The Problem

The problem most marketers have when generating traffic is they read to much, and don’t apply any of the methods they are reading about.
Or
They try to do everything. They don’t focus on a few traffic sources until they master a few of them. They try everything they read about, and don’t give any one traffic source the real attention it needs to be big.
I’m going to outline my favorite traffic source that I feel many people still aren’t utilizing, and if you take the time to read and implement these methods you will have plenty of visitors to your site that you can start learning to monetize which could be a way to source traffic generation wthout SEO.
First Things First
Now before we get ahead of ourselves I want to address one issue. When you get all of this traffic you need to do one thing—Build A List!!!
I wish someone would have slapped me in the face with the GetResponse form when I started Internet marketing. You’re doing yourself a disservice by neglecting to put a optin form on every site you create.
You will hear me mention this in many posts that you need to build a list. I wish I started much earlier then I did, I read it many times but chose to ignore it.
Once you have people subscribed to your list you can send them information, products, and guide them to whatever content you want them to see on a regular basis. If you fail to create an email list then you have to hope the people will come back to your website to see your future posts.
Hope isn’t a good business model
Not All Traffic Is Equal
You can have thousands of visitors hitting your site everyday, but if it’s not targeted traffic it’s worthless. This is the main reason that most paid traffic is worthless and not worth your money.
There are plenty of free traffic sources out there with little competition because everyone is doing what everyone else is doing—SEO.
Now that we have this out of the way we can move on to traffic generation wthout SEO.
The Power Of Video Marketing

If you’re aren’t using videos to market your website or business you are leaving lots of traffic potential to your competitors. People now spend more time watching videos on YouTube and other video sharing sites then they spend reading content.
Do you think many people will spend 30mins to an hour reading your content? I don’t think so.
Video marketing is powerful because your end goal is to keep people on your website for as long as possible. You want to build a relationship and rapport with the people consuming your content.
Videos have a way of reeling people in and captivating their attention if you make your videos fun or interesting.
Why Video Marketing Over Normal Traffic Methods?

Simple, all of the other traffic generations methods have lots of competition and people all know the typical sources of where to get traffic. Just look at all the article directories, and web 2.0 sites.
You can find every subject written about 1000′s of times.
With video marketing it’s still not highly competitive because people aren’t taking advantage of it, people haven’t taken the time to learn how to do it, or they just don’t do it the right way.
This is good news for you because your going to do it right the first time. This is a great way for traffic generation wthout SEO.
It’s Not Hard To Do It, I’ve Even Seen Grandma’s Doing It
Seriously, I’ve seen grandma’s posting videos on YouTube, they’re not doing it right, but that’s besides the point.
Anyways, it’s not hard to make good looking videos with all of the software and resources available these days.
With sites like Fiverr where you can get everything for $5 it makes it much easier to create good looking videos.
You can get videos edited, and professional looking video intros all for $5 each.
How To Create A Video
Invideo- You can use a service like Invideo which will allow you to take pictures and text and make a professional slideshow video. This is a great way to take existing pictures and content from your site and make a video which you can lead visitors back to your website with.
This has a free plan where the service is free to create short 15 mnts videos with. It allows you to add transitions, special effects, and music. If you want to create videos longer then 15 mnts you will want to buy their premium service for $15 a month.
If you’re just starting out it’s a great service. I used this when I first started out.
Powerpoint- If you want to create professionally looking videos you can do it by using power point and screen recording software. If you have watched a lot of Make Money Online presentations or most YouTube tutorials you will notice this is the usual format.
Once you setup your power point presentation you will need software to record your screen.
Screen Recording Software– The popular format for screen recording is either Camtasia, ScreenFlow, or you can use Quicktime movie player for a free source. I’ve used all three and find Quicktime works fine. Camtasia and ScreenFlow has some powerful features that will come in handy if you get heavy in video marketing.
Now if you want to learn how to make professional videos that will really captivate viewers you can get software like Final Cut Pro for Mac, or Sony Vegas for PC. These aren’t needed, but can be fun to learn.
If you want to have high quality videos outsourced then you can go to odesk and find really good video editors at an affordable price.
How To Optimize Your Videos The Right Way

Now once you have your video completed your going to want to upload it to sites like YouTube.
This is the part people mess up. People just upload their video and wonder why they get no views or why people aren’t seeing their awesome video they just created?
What gives man?
Video marketing needs a little SEO love as well. You can’t just upload your videos and hope for the best
Video Title

When crafting your titles for your video you should be using keywords in your title. The earlier the better. Youtube has an algorithm just like Google does for ranking their videos.
If you can, find a way to incorporate other search phrases in the video title towards the end.
Video Descriptions
Fill out the description in detail. Make sure to include your keywords and different versions of your keywords in the description. By filling this out you will be helping youtube Index your video better for the keywords you are trying to target. This helps them determine what the video is about.
Include your website link in the top of the description before any text.
Optimizing Tags
Make sure to include and optimize for keywords you want to rank for in the tags section of the video below the description
The best way to do this is find the top ranking videos for the keywords you’re trying to rank for. Look at their video tags and see if you’re missing any keywords you could optimize your video for(model success).
Ranking Your Videos
I think most marketers miss this part even if they get all of the steps above correct. You should be building backlinks to your videos just like you do websites. This help the videos rank in Youtube and Google.
You can use blog comments, social bookmarks, and even build web 2.o links to your videos.
A good link source for video comments is Social bookmarks.
You can use Onlywire to build social bookmarks to your videos.
Conclusion
If you follow this simple process you will soon being getting lots of views on your videos, and if you find a way to engage the views you can lure people back to your website or squeeze page and capture their email.
From here you start working on building rapport with them, and you can start sending them your content, affiliate offers, or products you create.
Now go out there and start creating your first videos, and learn to master YouTube traffic. Don’t move on to another method until you master one traffic source.
That’s it for this post.
